Behind the Lippe lamps is Liisa – an industrial designer and the founder of the brand.

What fascinates me most in lighting design is how light can completely transform the atmosphere of a space and create a unique ambiance. As a designer, I’m inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, organic forms, and artistic expression. I aim to create lamps that are not only functional, but also visually striking and timeless.

Vision & Design Philosophy

Lippe was born from a desire to combine lighting with art. The goal was to create lamps that are more than just sources of light—they're also striking interior elements that speak to their users and complete a space. Behind Lippe lies a vision of timeless design and light that brings spaces to life.

PLEXIGLAS® Acrylic as a Material

Lippe lighting designs use PLEXIGLAS® acrylic, one of the highest-quality and most responsibly produced acrylic materials on the market. When selecting materials, both aesthetics and durability are prioritized—and PLEXIGLAS® excels in both. It’s an ideal choice for lighting for several reasons:




PLEXIGLAS® is renowned for its outstanding UV stability. It doesn't yellow or become brittle in sunlight, which is why it's used in applications like airplane windows and outdoor structures.




The material is about 10 times more impact-resistant than regular glass while weighing only about half as much. This makes it a practical and safe option for interior design and lighting.




The Satinice version of PLEXIGLAS® diffuses light beautifully and evenly, reducing glare and creating a pleasant, ambient glow. It’s perfect for atmospheric lighting and soft general illumination.




PLEXIGLAS® contains no BPA, phthalates, or heavy metals, making it a safe choice for indoor environments.




PLEXIGLAS® is fully recyclable. The manufacturer, Röhm GmbH, has also developed the Green Line series, which incorporates partially bio-based or recycled raw materials.
