Lippe was born out of a desire to approach lighting design in a personal and unconventional way – to combine light, form, and atmosphere with a distinctive touch. There has always been a fascination with different materials, and during design studies, the need to work with something other than traditional wood or metal emerged. The goal was to bring elements into the design that resonate deeply: color, transparency, lightness – and a hint of surprise. Acrylic was chosen for its compelling balance between visual appeal and functionality.

Plastic is often viewed critically, but it's easy to forget that when used thoughtfully and responsibly, it can be a durable and sustainable material. Lippe’s lamps are carefully handcrafted in Finland, designed to last in both form and function.

The visual vision behind each piece is allowed to take space – sometimes with odd or unexpected shapes – making the designs truly one-of-a-kind. Each model begins with an idea that lingers, that stays in the mind – eventually transforming into an object that finds its place in someone’s home.
